Korelasi Bahasa dan Budaya dalam Konteks Ritual Uang Panai pada Film Uang Panai Maha(R)L Sutradara Halim Gani Safia
Abstract
Korelasi Bahasa dan budaya memiliki suatu keterkaitan yang tidak bisa dipisahkan. Keduanya, memilki keterkaitan dalam fungsinya. bahasa merupakan hasil kebudayaan. Artinya, bahasa yang dipergunakan atau diucapkan oleh suatu kelompok masyarakat adalah suatu refleksi atau cermin keseluruhan kebudayaan masyarakat tersebut. Pada pelaksanaan upacara ritual, yang masing-masing menggunakan bahasa. Peristiwa budaya semacam itu akan menghasilkan bahasa. Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu untuk menambah wawasan yang berhubungan dengan korelasi antara bahasa dan budaya dalam tradisi uang panai pada dialog film "Uang Panai Maha(R)L" karya sutradara Halim Gani Safia, selain itu makalah ini juga berkontribusi dalam memperkaya penelitian mengenai teori etnografi dan menjadi referensi dalam penelitian selanjutnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara digital, yaitu menonton film Uang Panai’ dengan menggunakan metode visual, yaitu menonton Film Uang Panai. Kemuadian mengamati setiap adengan dan proses cerita dalam film, serta mengamati korelasi antara Bahasa dan budaya yang terdapat pada film tersebut. Pada dialog dan interaksi dalam konteks ritual uang panai dan pernikahan dalam budaya Bugis menunjukkan keterkaitan erat antara bahasa dan budaya. Dalam praktik mammanu'-manu', kesopanan bahasa dan penggunaan metafora tidak hanya menjaga formalitas dan hormat dalam komunikasi, tetapi juga merefleksikan nilai-nilai budaya seperti penghormatan, kebijaksanaan, dan keharmonisan. Melalui bahasa, nilai-nilai budaya ini diekspresikan dan diwariskan, menjadikan ritual ini bukan hanya pertukaran materi, tetapi juga perwujudan dari identitas dan tradisi Bugis yang mendalam.
