Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan menulis teks berita melalui media gambar mempengaruhi critical inquiry pada peserta didik kelas VII-I SMP Negeri 36 Surabaya. Media yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa gambar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode PTK (Penilaian Tindakan Kelas) dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Objek penelitian ini peserta didik kelas VII-I SMP Negeri 36 Surabaya dengan jumlah 30 peserta didik terdiri dari 17 laki-laki dan 13 perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi (pengamatan), tes dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian ini meggunakan lembar tes (pretest dan post test), lembar observasi, dan kamera. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian persentase minat keterampilan menulis teks berita melalui media gambar mempengaruhi critical inquiry pada siswa, dapat dijabarkan dengan diawali pretest dilanjutkan dengan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Hasil belajar setelah pelaksanaan pra siklus memperoleh nilai rata-rata 62 dengan keterangan tuntas berjumlah 2 peserta didik. Nilai pelaksanaan siklus 1 sebelum penerapan media gambar memperoleh hasil keterampilan menulis teks berita dengan nilai rata-rata 73,7 dengan jumlah persentase nilai yang diperoleh 11,7% dengan keterangan tuntas berjumlah 13 peserta didik. Pada siklus 2 terjadi peningkatan minat dan keterampilan menulis teks berita dengan memperoleh nilai rata-rata 84 dengan jumlah persentase peningkatan 10,3% dengan keterangan tuntas berjumlah 28 peserta didik.
