Penerapan Metode Scramble dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Pemahaman Siswa Kelas III Sekolah Dasar
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode Scramble dan mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa, yang tercermin dari kesulitan memahami isi teks, kesulitan menjawab pertanyaan inferensial, serta rendahnya motivasi belajar akibat pembelajaran yang monoton. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dengan setiap siklus terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 19 siswa kelas III sekolah dasar pada semester ganjil. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes kemampuan membaca pemahaman, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada Siklus I nilai rata-rata kelas hanya mencapai 57,3 dengan ketuntasan belajar sebesar 5,26 persen. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan pada Siklus II melalui penambahan media visual, diferensiasi tugas, penegasan aturan kelompok, modeling guru yang lebih rinci, serta penerapan sistem skor kompetitif, nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 89,7 dengan ketuntasan mencapai 100 persen. Peningkatan hasil belajar tersebut disertai dengan peningkatan keaktifan, kerja sama, motivasi, dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Dengan demikian, penerapan metode Scramble yang didukung media visual, diferensiasi tugas, dan pengelolaan kelas yang efektif terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III sekolah dasar secara signifikan.
