Abstract

Proses abreviasi dalam morfologi masih tampak tumpang tindih pengartiannya dalam
masyarakat luas, padahal penggunaan internet yang masif memberikan ruang pada
masyarakat untuk mendapat informasi serta belajar bahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan
untuk menganalisis abreviasi yang digunakan pada Tribun news yang berperan sebagai
media informasi kepada masyarakat. Penggunaan metode dalam penelitian ini adalah
deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data diakses pada kolom nasional Tribun news. Abreviasi
dalam Tribun news dalam bentuk (1) Singkatan sering kali digunakan untuk
menyebutkan lembaga pemerintah atau informasi mengenai politik untuk meringkas
berita, (2) Akronim digunakan pada kutipan langsung dalam penulisan berita sebagai
kata yang wajar dalam pelafalan seseorang secara fonotaktik, dan (3) Lambang
digunakan pada berita yang berkaitan dengan unsur dalam sains. Tujuan penelitian ini
untuk mengetahui abreviasi dalam kajian morfologi, memberikan informasi lebih lanjut
dan pemahaman kepada masyarakat perbedaan antara singkatan, akronim, dan
lambang dalam kajian morfologi.
