Representasi Perselingkuhan dalam Rumah Tangga pada Film Ipar adalah Maut: Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes
Abstract
Film sebagai media komunikasi massa memiliki kemampuan untuk merepresentasikan realitas sosial, termasuk konflik dalam kehidupan rumah tangga. Salah satu fenomena yang sering diangkat dalam film adalah perselingkuhan, yang tidak hanya berdampak pada hubungan pasangan tetapi juga memengaruhi struktur keluarga. Film Ipar Adalah Maut merupakan film drama Indonesia yang mengangkat kisah perselingkuhan antara seorang suami dengan adik dari istrinya sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi perselingkuhan dalam rumah tangga pada film tersebut melalui pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik analisis semiotika yang meliputi tiga tingkat makna, yaitu denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi terhadap adegan, dialog, dan simbol visual dalam film. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perselingkuhan dalam film direpresentasikan melalui berbagai tanda visual seperti ekspresi karakter, setting rumah tangga, serta interaksi antar tokoh. Pada tingkat konotasi, perselingkuhan dimaknai sebagai bentuk pengkhianatan yang merusak kepercayaan dalam keluarga. Sementara pada tingkat mitos, film ini memperkuat konstruksi sosial bahwa kesetiaan merupakan nilai fundamental dalam menjaga keutuhan keluarga. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa film tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai medium yang mereproduksi nilai moral dan norma sosial dalam masyarakat.
