Keefektifan Model Show Not Tell pada Pembelajaran Menulis Berita siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Bua Kabupaten Luwu
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keefektifan model Show Not Tell pada pembelajaran menulis berita siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Bua Kabupaten Luwu. Jenis penelitian ini berupa eksprimen yang melibatkan dua kelompok kelas yaitu kelas eksprimen dan kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Bua Kabupaten Luwu. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Control Group pretestt posstest design. Pengajaran dilakukan langsung oleh peneliti di dalam kelas baik pada kelas eksprimen dengan menggunakan model Show Not Tell maupun pada kelas kontrol dengan menerapkan metode biasa (konvensional). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak efektif dikarenakan hasil penelitian tidak mampu mencapai 85% yang memeroleh nilai 75 ke atas. Terdapat perbedaan antara penerapan model Show Not Tell dan metode konvensional, terlihat nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh oleh kelas yang mendapat perlakuan (eksprimen) mencapai 91,47, sedangkan kelas yang tidak mendapat perlakuan (kontrol) mencapai 78,97 sebesar 3,024 pada taraf signifikan P = 0,006, karena P > ɑ = 0,05. Jadi, kesimpulan yang dapat diperoleh adalah hipotesis nol (H0) diterima dan hipotesis satu (H1) ditolak.
