Kepribadian Tokoh Menurut Carl Gustav Jung dalam Novel The Hidden Reality Karya Shannin Kajian Psikologi Sastra
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kepribadian tokoh dalam novel “The Hidden Reality” karya Shannin di tinjau dari kajian psikologi sastra menurut teori dari Carl Gustav Jung. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif (kualitatif). Dalam penilitian ini penulis berusaha mendeskripsikan bagaimana karakter tokoh dan kepribadian tokoh utama yang ada dalam novel “The Hidden Reality” karya Shannin. Untuk mengumpulkan data, digunakan teknik membaca dan mencatat, studi pustaka, serta instrumen penelitian. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dihubungkan dengan teori kepribadian Jung, yang menekankan aspek kesadaran dan ego, ketidaksadaran pribadi dan kompleks, dan arketipe. Peneliti menemukan bahwa novel ini sarat dengan arketipe yang mencerminkan perjalanan tokoh Jefan Halim Adiwijaya dalam menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Dengan mempertimbangkan struktur kepribadian seperti kesadaran dan ego, ketidaksadaran pribadi beserta kompleksnya, serta ketidaksadaran kolektif dan arkhetipe, artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa teori psikoanalisis Jung efektif untuk mengkaji novel "The Hidden Reality". Hal ini berpengaruh pada dinamika kepribadian Jefan, di mana emosi, pemikiran, dan perilakunya sering kali bertentangan dan penuh konflik. Analisis ini mengintegrasikan ringkasan cerita, ulasan novel, serta konsep Jung untuk membentuk pemahaman mendalam terhadap teks.
