Analisis Peran Tradisi Lisan Markobar dalam Menjaga Eksistensi Budaya di Era Digital pada Masyarakat Mandailing
Abstract
Tradisi lisan Markobar merupakan salah satu tradisi adat masyarakat Mandailing yang masih digunakan dalam acara pernikahan dan kegiatan adat lainnya. Markobar berisi penyampaian nasihat, petuah, serta doa kepada kedua pengantin yang disampaikan oleh keluarga dan tokoh adat. Namun, perkembangan era digital mulai memengaruhi keberadaan tradisi ini di kalangan generasi muda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa angket melalui Google Form kepada 11 mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Medan yang memiliki latar belakang budaya Mandailing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi Markobar masih dikenal dan digunakan dalam kehidupan masyarakat Mandailing serta dianggap sebagai bagian dari identitas budaya. Selain itu, media digital mulai dimanfaatkan sebagai sarana memperkenalkan dan melestarikan Markobar kepada generasi muda melalui berbagai platform media sosial. Meskipun demikian, penggunaan media digital perlu dilakukan secara bijaksana agar tidak mengurangi nilai dan makna asli dari tradisi tersebut.
