Suara Suara yang Dibisukan: Representasi Perempuan Marginal Dalam Novel Maya Karya Ayu Utami Kajian Feminisme Naomi Wolf.
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merepresentasikan pengalaman perempuan marginal dalam novel Maya karya Ayu Utami dengan menggunakan kerangka teori feminisme Naomi Wolf, khususnya konsep "Mitos Kecantikan" (The Beauty Myth). Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Sumber data berupa kutipan narasi dan dialog dari novel Maya (KPG, 2013) yang merepresentasikan dua tokoh perempuan marginal: Maya (perempuan kerdil albino) dan istri Suhubudi (perempuan bisu). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mitos kecantikan bekerja melalui ejekan fisik, hierarki antarperempuan, dan pembungkaman suara. Maya direpresentasikan sebagai korban stigma sosial sekaligus pelaku perlawanan simbolis, sedangkan istri Suhubudi menjadi metafora bahwa pemenuhan standar kecantikan tidak menjamin kebebasan. Novel Maya tidak hanya menggambarkan penindasan patriarki melalui standar kecantikan, tetapi juga memperlihatkan perlawanan diam-diam perempuan marginal dalam merebut kembali definisi diri dan otonomi atas tubuh mereka.
